My name is RaDean Mynatt and I am a native of Colorado. Along with my husband Gareth, I have made Estes Park, Colorado my home for 22 years. Throughout a full life with 6 sons, 12 grandchildren and a self employed career as a dental laboratory technician, I have continued to engage in a variety of art projects continually seeking to improve my diverse set of skills. My experiences have included tattooing, interior decor, custom furniture, ceramics, stained glass, sculpting, jewelry making, greeting card illustrating, music, photography and painting.

I attended The Rocky Mountain School of Art and Design where I studied for two years and was able to round out my natural gifts with a variety of learned skills. My passion for painting and sculpting were also nurtured through workshops and instruction from well recognized artists and sculptors including Ellie Weakly, Cathy Goodale, Bruno Lucchesi, Richard Schmid, Gerald Balcier, Sandy Scott and Dee Clements. Experience working with the Loveland Academy of Fine Arts helped to develop my sculpting skills where I was able to create my own pieces as well as refine original pieces created by many local and national sculptors. A love of all things artistic including cartooning led me to design a line of humorous greeting cards under my own company, Underbrush Studios. I have also owned and operated a decorative art business, Imago Fine Art, specializing in decorative finishes, trompe l'oeil, and large scale murals.

My work has been featured in Style Magazine and can be found in countless businesses and private homes throughout Colorado. Most recently I have defined a focus on canvas paintings in acrylic, oil and mixed media while continuing to enjoy working within a large format. My ongoing inspiration is to meld the past into the present and create pieces that offer a combined glimpse of traditional and contemporary art.

My art pieces are created solely by hand, quickly sketching a composition directly onto my surface followed by several layers of colored pigment in various mediums. Much of my content is spontaneous as I move through the painting as I'm so inspired. I am passionate about earthy textures that can be felt as well as seen, while often adding metallics, rusts and glazes for even more visual interest. I strive to maintain a tasteful balance of creativity as well as present a piece of art that is not only pleasant to observe but also serves the imagination of the viewer.
